New Castle County Criminal Records
The New Castle County Police Department processes requests for different types of records, including collision reports and incident reports. Eligible persons may obtain a copy of a collision report or incident by submitting a request to the Records unit in the Public Safety Building at 3601 N DuPont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19702. Requests can also be submitted by mail.
In order to obtain a copy of an incident report, applicants must be listed as the victim on the report or parents of minors listed as a victim. The first copy of the report is provided free of charge while additional copies cost $60.00 each. Requesters must provide a valid photo I.D during their application.
How to Find Sex Offender Information
The Delaware State Police maintains a public central registry of sex offender. County residents can search for sex offenders by name, address or neighborhood. Searches can also be conducted using the name of a company to find offenders within a specific workplace. In addition, the state maintains an online list of wanted sex offenders.
How to Find information on Inmates
Records of persons housed in correctional inmate facilities within the state are managed by the Delaware Department of Correction. The department provides public access to inmate information using an online inmate locator. Friends and family can send money to inmates by either dropping off a money order at the inmate's facility during a scheduled visit or sending a money order by mail.

New Castle is also home to a Court of chancery, which presides over complex commercial cases and a court of common pleas, which oversees most misdemeanors. Family courts have jurisdiction over most juvenile and family cases as well as related civil matters such as child custody, visitation, and child support. To prevent tampering, all records must be viewed in the presence of a member of the court. In addition to the courts above, New Castle also houses multiple Alderman's Courts and Justice of the Peace Courts. How to Find Divorce Records
Residents of New Castle can obtain copies of a divorce decree by contacting the Family Court Record Department. Requests can be made in person or by mail. Requesters will be expected to provide a valid photo I.D as well as their contact details. Records can also be obtained via mail by sending a written request with a notarized signature to:

Note: The records department of the Family Court only maintains records for divorces from 1975 till present. Records for divorces that occurred prior to 1975 can be obtained at the New Castle Superior Court Prothonotary office.
